For those who know me, for the past 26 years cruising has also been one of my passions. I prefer the smaller more intimate ships 40,000 to 65,000 GT. This video of the world's largest cruise ship you can see the excitement is just contagious.
For easy access to watersports and a day on the beach you would want Palm Beach.
Where on Palm Beach? There is MoomBa Beach between the Holiday Inn and Marriott Surf Club.

Here is a breakdown for our extended family of 10 for a day at Palm Beach.
2 big umbrellas $20 x 2 = $40
6 chaise lounge rentals $8 x 6= $48 (if the kids want to sit they can use their towels)
4 floats to pass the day away $5 x 4 = $20
Banana boat or tube ride for 4 kids $20 x 4= $80
Lunch (hamburger & soda $22.88 pp at the Radisson) for 10 people = $228.80
One hour rental of a Hobie Cat sailboat = $75
2 taxis for 10 people (2 x $20) roundtrip = $40
$531.80 for ten people= $53.80 per person for the entire day
(sandwich at Bugaloe instead of the Radisson with a pina cola $166.80) = $46.98 per person
